Today, Wednesday, a member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Hussein Hashem Al-Amiri, called on the government to carry out its duties in protecting the state and its institutions, especially the judicial and legislative bodies, to prevent any chaotic situation that casts a shadow over the overall situation in the country, which is going through difficult and critical circumstances and conditions.
Al-Amiri said in a statement, “The suspension of the Judicial Council, its courts, and the Federal Court considered it a dangerous precedent that indicates the extent of pressures that the judiciary, known for its integrity and justice, is subjected to. It is up to the law and the constitution.”
He added, "The judiciary is a safety valve for Iraq and its people and the political process, and that transgression against it or prejudice to it is unacceptable by all political and popular circles, and weakening it means weakening the prestige of the state and its institutions." .
Al-Amiri called on all political forces to renounce differences, to stay away from the language of escalation that does not serve anyone, and to commit to dialogue and resort to legal and constitutional contexts to resolve the current crisis, calling at the same time to “remove the judiciary from political conflicts.”
