After the call of their leader... Al-Sadr's supporters withdraw from the Green Zone and the coordination framework decides to end his sit-in

Supporters of the Sadrist movement withdrew from the Green Zone in Baghdad today, Tuesday, after a speech by the movement's leader Muqtada al-Sadr, in which he demanded his supporters from the sit-in to cancel the sit-in and withdraw from the parliament.
Our correspondent in Baghdad explained that the supporters of the movement demanded that those accompanying them at the sit-in also withdraw from the vicinity of the Green Zone. The reporter pointed out the withdrawal of motorcycles belonging to the Sadrist movement.
Baghdad Operations Commander Lieutenant-General Ahmed Salim Bahjat said that his forces secured the withdrawal of the protesters from the Green Zone "in a flexible manner, and the operation did not witness any incidents."
Lifting the curfew
The reporter also reported that the Joint Operations Command decided to lift the curfew in Baghdad and the provinces, while the Iraqi Ministry of Education announced the resumption of exams tomorrow, Wednesday, after the end of the unrest yesterday, Monday in Baghdad, and the Iraqi News Agency reported that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi gave instructions to open Suspension bridge in central Baghdad.
The leader of the Sadrist movement demanded, in a press conference in the city of Najaf (south), his supporters to withdraw immediately from the sit-in in front of Parliament, and gave them one hour to withdraw, stressing that he will disavow them if they do not withdraw.
Al-Sadr criticized what he called the revolution of the Sadrist movement and said that it has gone out of its pacifism and is no longer a revolution, as he put it.
Al-Sadr also praised the work of the security forces and said that they stood neutral with all parties. In a speech against the backdrop of the events in Baghdad since yesterday, he added that the members of the Popular Mobilization have nothing to do with what is happening.
Welcoming Al-Sadr's call
After Al-Sadr's speech, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi welcomed the call of the leader of the Sadrist movement to stop the violence, and said that this call represented the highest levels of patriotism and keenness to preserve Iraqi blood, as he put it.
The head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, said that all political forces must appeal to the decisions of the people's voice, which the legitimate parliament reduces through its decisions, laws and positions.
The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, thanked al-Sadr, and said that his position is the size of Iraq, which deserves a lot from us.
For his part, the leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri said that Al-Sadr's initiative to put an end to armed violence was a courageous initiative that deserves praise and appreciation, and it came at a critical moment.
As for the head of the Iraqi Sovereignty Alliance, Khamis al-Khanjar, he said that al-Sadr's speech restored security to the people and the state and nipped sedition in its cradle.
The spark of unrest
The unrest on Monday in Baghdad erupted after Muqtada al-Sadr announced his retirement from political work in protest against the political crisis that has been going on in Iraq for 10 months. Al-Sadr's supporters stormed the Green Zone and entered the government palace, the presidential palace and the parliament building.
Hours after the storming, the security forces intervened and expelled the protesters from the Green Zone, which resulted in clashes with light and medium weapons that continued throughout the night and this morning.
An Iraqi medical source told Al-Jazeera - today, Tuesday - that 30 people were killed and 700 wounded in the clashes that took place in the Green Zone in Baghdad since yesterday, including 110 members of the security forces.
The Coordination Framework
After Muqtada al-Sadr's call, the coordinating framework called in a statement for his supporters to return to their homes "safe and sound," according to the statement's description.
The framework called on his supporters to always be fully prepared to respond to what he called the call of the homeland if he cries out to them.
Well-informed sources told Al Jazeera that there were negotiations between government officials and leaders in the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement to reach an agreement that would avoid the country sliding into a cycle of violence.
Today, Tuesday, during a call with King Abdullah II of Jordan, Iraqi President Barham Salih said that efforts are underway to support the paths of dialogue between the political forces in the country "to reach solutions that guarantee the safety of Iraq and Iraqis."
In a related context, the Supreme Judicial
Council in Iraq announced that the Federal Court did not consider today, Tuesday, the cases presented due to the curfew that was imposed in the capital, Baghdad, against the backdrop of the outbreak of armed confrontations.
The Sadrist movement had submitted an official request to dissolve Parliament to the Supreme Court and set a 72-hour deadline that began last Friday and ended today.
For nearly a month, supporters of the Sadrist movement staged a sit-in near the parliament, demanding the dissolution of the House of Representatives, and the holding of early legislative elections to resolve the current political crisis since the 2021 elections, as the political forces in Parliament failed to agree on the name of a new prime minister, and Parliament also failed to elect a new president of the republic.
Muqtada al-Sadr and the coordinating framework meet that the solution to the crisis lies in organizing new elections. But al-Sadr wants to dissolve parliament first, while the framework wants to agree on forming a government first before holding the elections.
