    Economy News - Baghdad
The Iranian Assistant Minister of Oil for International Affairs, Ahmed Asadzadeh, stated that the Russian gas within the framework of the swap agreement with Iran could be directed to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan and other countries.
The Iranian official added that the potential volume of Russian gas supplies only through northern Iran is estimated at 50 million cubic meters of gas per day.
Asadzadeh said: "Negotiations took place and the two parties exchanged agreements, there are only some implementation problems that will be resolved soon, and I hope that we can receive gas from Russia through the northern part of our country. Then this gas can be sent in the form of an exchange of supplies to other countries in The region, for example, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey and Iraq, can also go to southern Iran for export to the Gulf countries that need gas and to countries such as Pakistan and others.”
The Assistant Minister of Oil pointed out that "Iran can present various models for working with Russia in this regard, as barter, trade or transit."
Earlier, the National Iranian Oil Company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Russian company "Gazprom" providing for investments worth $40 billion in oil and natural gas fields in Iran.
