, the Ministry of Commerce clarified, today, Thursday, the proceedings of its meeting with a joint team of the Integrity and Oversight Bureau, and while clarifying its most prominent contents, it confirmed the discussion of a set of files, including the subject of those covered by the ration card withholding and the automation of programs in the Companies Registrar, confirming that measures have been taken in this regard.
The Director General of the Financial and Commercial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce, Muhammad Hanoun, said that "a meeting was held today at the Ministry of Commerce, and it came as part of the mechanisms of the strategic plan for integrity and anti-corruption prepared by the Integrity Commission within the framework of Iraq's accession to international organizations to combat corruption."
Hannoun added, "The indicators in the Ministry of Commerce, in addition to risks and initiatives, are currently being discussed by a joint team from the Financial Supervision Bureau and the Integrity Commission, as well as a team representing the ministry's departments and companies."
He stressed, "The team has sought for a while to reduce these phenomena, which began with ten and have now reduced to two phenomena only," noting that "eight phenomena have been checked and treated, and the number of risks was 15 and reduced to 4 and were discussed today."
He continued, "The joint team of the Diwan, the Integrity Commission and the departments of the Ministry of Commerce, deals in detail and meticulously with all the existing phenomena to curb corruption," pointing to "taking measures related to the automation of programs in the Companies Registrar in the General Company for Iraqi Exhibitions."
He pointed to "discussing the issue of blocking and those covered by canceling the ration card and directing the card to its beneficiaries within the framework of the Prime Minister's directive," stressing that "the indicators are now positive in resolving many corruption files and putting things in perspective, and that the citizen is the first beneficiary of the ration card."
