Today, Sunday, the Iranian authorities asked the Iraqi government in Baghdad to maintain the borders of the Kurdistan region with Iran.
"We asked the Iraqi side in Baghdad to control the borders of the Kurdistan region with Iran," said the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq, adding: "We also demanded that the members of the Iranian opposition factions in the region be disarmed and returned to the camps as refugees."
Al Sadiq added, "We discussed the exchange of wanted persons for the judiciary, according to a memorandum of understanding between the Iraqi and Iranian judiciary," stressing that "the Iraqi government agreed to two demands and asked for a deadline regarding the issue of disarmament."
It is noteworthy that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard had recently launched missile attacks on the headquarters of Iranian Kurdish parties in Iraqi Kurdistan, the latest of which was last Monday, a day before the visit of the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Ismail Qaani, to Baghdad.
