Shafaq News / The Central Bank of Iraq issued a directive to all government banks regarding the collection of customs duties and tax amounts.
The Central Bank instructed, in a letter addressed to government banks, issued on January 3, and obtained by Shafaq News Agency, that "the General Authority for Taxes and the General Authority for Customs play their fundamental role in organizing work and collecting tax and customs duties on goods imported into Iraq, through the border crossings.
The Central Bank had decided, on December 26, to stop work by collecting customs duties and taxes in advance to address the high exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar.
