    The electricity sector in Iraq is awaiting the implementation of a 3-stage plan to solve the crisis of frequent outages in the country, which is one of the biggest problems facing successive governments.[/rtl]

    [rtl]The Minister of Electricity, Ziyad Ali Fadel, revealed plans for specific projects that would contribute to solving the energy problem in the country, noting that the Council of Ministers agreed to a contract with international companies to convert the system from electric to smart.[/rtl]
    [rtl]Fadel said that, according to the government's approach, the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity presented a specific plan according to time ceilings distributed in stages in order to solve the electricity crisis in Iraq, according to the data seen by the specialized energy platform.[/rtl]
    [rtl]Stages of solving the electricity crisis[/rtl]
    [rtl]Fadel indicated that the first phase includes several projects to be implemented within 6 months. As teams were formed to implement them and ensure their entry before the summer of 2023, so that there would be a feasibility in presenting these projects, whether they are production stations or transmission and distribution stations, according to the Iraqi News Agency.[/rtl]
    [rtl]He added that the second and third phases consist of a strategic plan to address power outages and severe shortages across the country.[/rtl]
    [rtl]He stressed that the plan set in the government program contains qualitative projects, foremost of which are combined cycles that will add 4,000 megawatts within two years.

    The use of foreign companies[/rtl]

    [rtl]The Minister of Electricity in Iraq confirmed that the advantage of the projects that the ministry is working on is that they operate without fuel. This will give the country the possibility of reducing the operating budget of the Ministry of Electricity at a rate that exceeds $4 billion annually, and this is one of the qualitative projects that will contribute to the energy problem and reduce the operational cost of the Ministry. ofElectricity.[/rtl]
    [rtl]And he indicated that the ministry also has a plan to deal with the service and collection of files, pointing out that the cabinet granted the ministry the authority to contract with major international companies to provide a clear vision and a complete study to transform the system from electricity. to smart. To reduce losses in some lines.[/rtl]

    The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, confirmed that the government has strategic plans to address the electricity sector in Iraq and advance its reality, noting that the government believes in the importance of the private sector and its contribution to the growth of the Iraqi economy.[/rtl]
