The Iraqi Oil Marketing Company "SOMO" announced, on Wednesday, that the Chinese and Indian oil companies topped the purchase of Iraqi crude during the month of December.
"Sumo" stated in a statistic published on its official website that "Chinese and Indian companies were the most numerous among other international companies in purchasing Iraqi oil, with 7 companies each out of 36 companies that purchased oil during the month of December."
She added, "South Korean companies came second with 4 companies, American and Italian companies came third with three companies each, then Greek companies came fourth with two companies, while the rest were distributed among Spanish, (Dutch-British), Turkish, Russian, Emirati, Egyptian and Jordanian companies." Kuwaiti, Taiwanese, and Malaysian companies, with one company each.
"SOMO" indicated that it "depends on the sale of Iraqi oil on the main criteria for contracting with large, medium, independent and vertically integrated governmental international oil companies," noting that "the most prominent international companies that bought Iraqi oil are the Indian Hindustan Company, the Korean Cocas, the Chinese Petrogene, and Exxon Mobil." American, British Dutch Shell and Italian Eni.
