Shafaq News/ The Emir of the Yazidis in Kurdistan Region and the scholar, Mir Hazem Mir Tahsin Bey, called on Sunday, the international community to influence the federal government in order to normalize conditions in Sinjar district to return the displaced to their homes.
Tahsin Bey said in a speech during a fundraising campaign for the areas affected by the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, that the disasters that befell Turkey and Syria hurt our hearts.

He added, "We have an open and not closed human mind, and we respect religion and nationalism, but we give priority to humanity over them because the world has developed in this aspect," calling on the Yazidis to contribute to all donations for the afflicted in Turkey and Syria.
Regarding the situation of the Yazidis in Iraq, Tahsin Bey said that the international community must exercise its role by influencing the federal government to normalize the situation in Sinjar district.
He continued by saying, "We demand the rights of the Yazidis from the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government, and we are Kurdistan and our country is Iraq."

The Sinjar district is 80 km away from the city of Mosul, inhabited by a majority of Yazidis and a minority of Arabs, and consists of several districts and towns.
This region is among the disputed areas, according to Article 140 of the Iraqi constitution, between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government.
Recent years have also witnessed calls by some politicians to establish an autonomous region or province for minorities in this region, especially after ISIS invaded it.
