Türkiye increases the flow of water in the Tigris River

Yesterday, Monday, the Ministry of Water Resources reported that Turkey had begun to increase water flows to the Tigris River, in implementation of the agreement reached last month, during the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani to Turkey, indicating that the increase in Turkish flows amounts to twice the amount that was previously sent to Iraq. Khaled Shamal, a spokesman for the Ministry of Water Resources, said in a statement, "Turkey has actually launched a plan to double the amount of water flowing into Iraq through the Tigris River, in implementation of the agreement with the Turkish side, by 1,500 cubic meters per second, and this agreement will be valid for a month."
