The Parliamentary Transport and Communications Committee decided to continue the stages of legislation of the proposed Communications and Informatics Law "after it has been legally matured."
"The Transport and Communications Committee held its periodic meeting headed by Representative Zahra Al-Bajari, Chairman of the Committee, and in the presence of its members," said a statement by the Parliament's Media Department, received by Mawazine News.
The committee discussed "the importance of the telecommunications sector, which relies on the private sector, as it is considered an essential partner with the ministry, and the committee's intention to listen to all problems in this sector and the obstacles it suffers from, to receive all grievances issued, discuss them and study them in service of the public interest and with the aim of reaching optimal effective solutions."
According to the statement, the members of the Transport and Communications Committee decided to "proceed with the proposal of the Communications and Informatics Law and continue the stages of its legislation after it has been legally matured."
The committee studied, "the reality of Najaf Airport and the development of the necessary treatments, in addition to the need to follow up the work of the General Company for Air Navigation and raise its efficiency to serve the public interest, keep up with and follow up on the file of the large port of Faw and complete all technical aspects in it."
