    Today, Friday, the Ministry of Justice revealed a mechanism for verifying the sources of safety of real estate funds and calculating taxes.
    The official spokesman for the ministry, Kamel Amin, told the official news agency, which was followed by (Baghdad Today), that "the increase in real estate prices depends on supply, demand and the value of the currency, and the Real Estate Registration Department is not responsible for it," noting that "the Real Estate Registration Department has controls and pricing according to regions." According to the type of building, it is determined by the price of the land and the building, and it is classified into three grades, first, second and third.
    Amin added, "On this basis, pricing is done and this pricing is applied to the mechanism for calculating taxes and fees," explaining that "the new approach is to create a division called the Communications Division linked to the legal department in the Real Estate Registration Department to work with the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Office to report any suspicion of corruption." Or legal suspicions associated with high-priced real estate.
    He also stated, "The Central Bank issued controls in this aspect, and the Real Estate Registration Department issued due diligence controls to combat money laundering and terrorist financing in May of last year, and now reports are being dealt with and information is exchanged," and he continued, "The mechanism for applying controls to ensure the safety of
    funds It takes place on real estate whose prices exceed 500 million dinars, as the applicant for purchase and the seller are obligated to come to the banks and deposit the purchase amount in them, and procedures are applied to verify the integrity of the source of funds after the depositor presents evidence of that, and in the event that it is not proven, legal procedures are applied against him.
    And he indicated that "these controls will also be applied to real estate offices and currency converters as well," pointing out that "it is difficult to eliminate corruption and the process of extorting citizens, unless there is automation and conversion of transactions into digital transactions, as has happened now with notaries."
    He explained that "the authenticity of the breasts was disposed of through the barcode of any institution, which can verify any document regarding notaries," pointing out that "there is a contract with a company specialized in electronic systems at the Ministry of Industry to convert all paper procedures into digital procedures from through automation.
     And he added, "This project requires great effort and time, especially the process of entering records digitally," pointing out, "We now keep all records and have complete electronic archiving, and copies of them were kept at the Central Bank in fortified rooms to preserve them because they represent the money and rights of all Iraqis."
