“Social Security” is a two-decade-delayed solution

Representatives considered the passage of the Social Security Law a positive step to confirm the rights of insured workers, noting that it will include a large segment of them.
A member of the Finance Committee, Mueen Al-Kazemi, said: “The guarantee law is one of the most important institutional laws for the retirement of workers in the private sector, and this would support
private sector and investment.
Al-Kadhimi added, in an interview with Al-Sabah, that “the approval of the Social Security Law will prevent the rush to the public sector, and it is a law that will oblige company owners and employers to organize the worker’s rights form,” noting that “employers must pay a monthly share for social security, and the worker must also pay He pays the retirement contributions, and he will have a guarantee after the end of his service period, which will be determined by the law.
In turn, a member of the Parliamentary Services and Reconstruction Committee, Alaa Sukkar, pointed out that the committee “has made a great effort to ripen the law in partnership with all the competent authorities, unions, unions and civil society organizations that have completed the ripening of the law.”
Sukkar explained to Al-Sabah that “the law will include a wide segment of workers, regulate their working lives, and guarantee them retirement, in addition to being one of the important international laws, and its approval will be a qualitative change in the ways of working in Iraq, and it will be one of the first laws that do justice to the segment of workers.”
And he indicated that by approving the law, “all the non-working class in the government sector will be included and the door will be opened for earning for many segments of workers and earning in the private sector.” The crowding queue to work in the government sector.
