The sales of the Central Bank of Iraq in an auction, on Monday, amounted to more than 210.2 million dollars, of which foreign transfers accounted for 91% compared to cash sales.
The Central Bank’s website published a schedule of its dollar sales, and “Al-Iqtisad News” viewed it, that it sold during its auction to buy and sell US dollars 210.2 million dollars, which the bank covered at a basic exchange rate of 1305 dinars, per dollar for documentary credits and international settlements of electronic cards, at the same price per dollar. For foreign transfers at the same price per dollar in cash.
And that most of the dollar sales went to enhance the balances abroad in the form of (remittances, credits) at a rate of 193.5 million dollars, an increase of 91.71% compared to cash sales, which amounted to 16.7 million dollars in the form of cash sales.
As the table included the number of banks that bought cash dollars, the number reached 7 banks, while the number of banks that met requests to strengthen balances abroad reached 19 banks, while the total number of exchange and mediation companies participating in the auction was 60 companies.
