Today, Thursday, a specialized research team from the University of Oxford revealed that the Iraqi per capita energy consumption amounted to more than 14,000 kilowatt-hours in 2022.
According to the team that supervises the (our world in data) website that specializes in publishing research and data, it explained, in a table seen by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the Iraqi individual consumed 14.392 thousand kilowatt-hours of energy during the year 2022, and this rate does not include The use of energy is not only electricity, but also includes other areas of consumption, including transportation, heating and cooking," noting that the Iraqi individual "consumed in 1965 energy equivalent to 2.782 thousand kilowatt-hours, an increase of 417%."
The site added that "the largest consumption of energy in the Arab countries was the share of Qatar, where the Qatari per capita consumption amounted to 194,222 thousand kilowatt / hour, followed by Bahrain, with a consumption of 161,111 thousand kilowatt / hour, followed by the Emirates, where the Emirati per capita consumption amounted to 148,177 thousand kilowatt / hour. Then Kuwait, with a consumption rate of 103,833 thousand kilowatt-hours, followed by Oman, with a consumption rate of 90,751 thousand kilowatt-hours per capita, then Saudi Arabia with a consumption rate of 87,707 thousand kilowatt-hours per capita.
The site continued, "The lowest energy consumption was by the Somali individual at 217 kilowatt-hours, preceded by the individual in Eritrea with 914 kilowatt-hours, and then Yemen with 1,080 thousand kilowatt-hours."
