    Baghdad today - Erbil
Today, Tuesday (August 29, 2023), the spokesperson for the Kurdistan Regional Government, Peshwa Hauramani, confirmed that the regional government has implemented all the conditions and demands of the federal government. Surprisingly, Baghdad refrained from sending budget allocations to the region.
Hauramani told "Baghdad Today" that "we do not know the reason that prevents the federal government from sending budget allocations to the Kurdistan region, despite its approval and becoming an enforceable law."
And regarding the delay in paying the salaries of the region's employees, the government spokesman indicated that "Kurdistan does not have the money to pay the salaries of employees, because the export of oil has been stopped, and we depend entirely on the money that Baghdad is supposed to send, as it is a right of Kurdish citizens, like the rest of the employees in the Iraqi provinces." ".
Although the current month of August is drawing to a close, Kurdistan employees have not yet received their salaries for the month of July, while institutions, federations and trade unions in the region have threatened to strike and strike.
    "not political"
But the representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Gharib Ahmed, confirms that the delay in sending the allocations of the Kurdistan region from the budget has nothing to do with the existence of a political problem with Baghdad, but rather due to technical problems only .
Earlier  Ahmed told "Baghdad Today" that "all political problems have been resolved between the two parties, and there is no political obstacle to sending budget allocations, since the region has adhered to Baghdad's conditions "
He added that "what remains are technical problems regarding customs revenues, border crossings, and taxes ."
Earlier, the former deputy minister of finance, Fadel Nabi, said that the major problem between Baghdad and Erbil is in non-oil revenues, as the region considers customs revenues to be only sovereign and 50% of them are for the center and 50% for the region, but the federal government wants to control all revenues. Including customs, taxes and fees.
    300 thousand space employees
As for the former member of Parliament for the Change Bloc, Ghaleb Muhammad, he revealed the presence of 300 thousand space employees in Kurdistan, while indicating that the region fears that they will be exposed by Baghdad .
Muhammad told "Baghdad Today" earlier in the year : "The Kurdish citizen demands that his salary be paid directly by the federal government to ensure that salaries are paid in a permanent and continuous manner ."
He added, "There are about 300,000 employees and a satellite Peshmerga, and the regional government is afraid of exposing it," noting that "this matter causes a decrease in the financial revenues coming from Baghdad, and the regional government wants corruption to continue in this field."
It is noteworthy that the Kurdistan Regional Government was delayed for about two consecutive months in the process of distributing the salaries of its employees due to its political and economic problems with the federal government, and this prompted the announcement of a permanent strike by several government departments and institutions in Sulaymaniyah Governorate and its affiliated districts and districts.
