    The Parliamentary Services and Reconstruction Committee announced, on Wednesday, its intention to host the Mayor of Baghdad and the Commander of Baghdad Operations to find out the repercussions of preventing the entry of construction materials into residential areas, noting that agricultural areas that have taken on a residential character are suffering from the entry of restoration materials.

    Committee member Taqi Al-Waeli said in an interview with Al-Ma’louma Agency, “There are indications and information of disobedience by a number of general directors of municipal departments in the Baghdad Municipality under the Prime Minister’s directives and not allowing people to bring construction materials into agricultural areas that have taken on a residential character.” 
    He added, "The orders issued on April 6, 2023 were assigned to municipal departments," noting that "some municipal department directors deal according to their mood and diligence." 
    He continued, "The Parliamentary Services Committee sent official letters to the Prime Minister facilitating the procedures for the entry of building materials into residential areas." 
    Al-Waeli had described, in a previous interview with Al-Ma’louma Agency, a government decision to raise fines for the Baghdad Municipality and provincial municipalities as arbitrary. Ended / 25 h
