The director of the agricultural organization in the city of Khorramshahr, southwest of Iran, announced that 58,122 tons of agricultural products have been exported to Iraq through the Shalamcheh border crossing since last March 21.
The organization's director, Yasser Sharifi, explained in a press interview followed by Al-Iqtisad News that "the products were evaluated by the organization's experts and were approved and licensed for export."
Sharifi pointed out that "these products include watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumber, carrots, apples, lettuce and cabbage."
It is noteworthy that the Shalamcheh port is the most important crossing point for Khuzestan Governorate with Basra Governorate, as it is used for trade and the transit of travelers and tourists.
