    Today, Thursday (October 12, 2023), the National Investment Authority announced the discussion of the final procedures for the waste recycling and electrical energy production project, while indicating that it will improve the reality of the electrical network and increase processing hours.
    The authority said in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", "The head of the National Investment Authority, Haider Muhammad Makiya, chaired a meeting of the ministerial committee concerned with the project of recycling and treating waste and producing electrical energy, and discussed the final procedures for the project to declare it an investment opportunity in the Nahrawan region," indicating, "It was completed." Research the economic and environmental feasibility of the project, the requirements for reducing emissions and environmental impact, as well as the precise requirements for the technical proposal and determining the tariff price and the cost of degradation.
    The head of the authority confirmed, in the meeting attended by representatives of the relevant sectoral authorities, that “the waste recycling and treatment project and the production of electrical energy will be the first of its kind in Iraq,” noting that “it is considered one of the most promising strategic projects in benefiting from the quantities of waste and producing electrical energy, in order to achieve Improving the reality of the network and increasing the hours of daily electrical power supply.”
    Makiya added, "The National Authority was keen to include the project data, conditions and requirements related to the implementation of the project within the internationally approved design standards, and the approval of the relevant sectoral authorities, as well as criteria for comparison between investors and reputable companies."
