    The Governor of the Central Bank of Iran agreed with his Omani counterpart to accelerate the process of benefiting from balances transferred from Iraq to the Sultanate.
    The Central Bank of Iran stated in a statement, “In light of the transfer of part of the foreign exchange balances from Iraq to Oman and also against the background of the previous experience of good cooperation of the Central Bank of Oman in transferring and disbursing closed balances, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Muhammad Reza Farzin, discussed with the Governor of the Central Bank of Oman, Taher Bin Salem Al-Omari stressed the need to accelerate the pace of benefiting from these new assets to use them for commercial purposes and to develop constructive economic cooperation between Iran and Oman.
    The Governor of the Central Bank of Oman pointed out, "his country's commitment to banking and monetary cooperation with regard to the transferred Iranian funds, stressing at the same time the necessity of developing bilateral economic cooperation."
    It is noteworthy that Iran's foreign exchange assets amounting to $10 billion in Iraq and $6 billion in Qatar, which were recently transferred from South Korea, have become available to the Central Bank of Iran. End/25
