Shafaq News/ The “Rights” parliamentary bloc announced, on Wednesday, its intention to sue the United States of America for committing what it called “crimes” from 2003 until now.

The representative of the bloc, Saud Al-Saadi, told Shafaq News Agency, “We will present a draft law to prosecute the United States of America for committing crimes against Iraqis between the years 2003 and 2023, including all criminal operations, whether targeting civilians, military units, or the Popular Mobilization Forces, especially what happened at dawn on Wednesday in Jurf Al-Nasr.” .

He added, "We call on the government to implement the House of Representatives' decision on 1/5/2020 to remove foreign forces from Iraqi territory, and each incident will be updated depending on the Iraqi government's response."

For his part, he renewed the coordination framework that includes the ruling Shiite forces in Iraq, in a statement, “categorically rejecting any targeting and violation of Iraqi sovereignty.”
The statement strongly condemned the attacks carried out on Iraqi soil, the most recent of which was in the Jurf al-Nasr area, north of Babil Governorate.
The framework stressed commitment to the specific tasks of all forces affiliated with the international coalition in accordance with Iraqi laws, and that any transgression and behavior not limited to fighting the remnants of ISIS is considered a dangerous and condemnable transgression, and that the attacks that occurred contribute to increasing confrontations with the coalition forces, which we do not wish for.
In its statement, the coordination framework also appreciated the government’s efforts to protect diplomatic missions and security headquarters and enforce the law and supports what was stated in its official statement, calling on it to deliver clear and urgent official messages to the concerned authorities to maintain peace and security achieved with the blood of the martyrs.

On Wednesday morning, a security source informed Shafaq News Agency that, “At dawn today, American drones carried out strikes on headquarters belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces (Kata’ib Hezbollah) within the Al-Saeedat area in Jurf Al-Sakhar (Al-Nasr).”

He said, "The bombing resulted in the killing of four Hashd fighters and the wounding of two others."

For its part, the US Army said in a statement issued at dawn on Wednesday, "US Central Command forces carried out separate and precise strikes on two facilities in Iraq."

The statement added, "The strikes were a direct response to attacks on American and coalition forces by Iran and Tehran-backed groups."

Later, an official security source told Shafaq News Agency that the toll of the aerial bombardment launched by the American forces targeting the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces in “Jurf al-Nasr - formerly Jurf al-Sakhr” north of Babil Governorate rose to six victims.

He pointed out that this toll is "not final, and may increase due to the seriousness of the injuries sustained by some fighters."

Yesterday, Tuesday, US forces “officially” claimed responsibility for the attack that targeted “Asaib Ahl al-Haq and Kataib Hezbollah” west of the capital, Baghdad.

An American military official told Reuters, "American forces in Iraq responded to an attack targeting the Ain al-Asad air base west of Baghdad," without further details.
