    Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities announced the existence of a trend for new tourism investment, while indicating the launch of an important initiative to develop this sector. 
    The Ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Al-Olayawi, said, “One of the most important initiatives presented by the Ministry of Culture for tourism investment is providing investment opportunities for private sector companies, such as establishing tourist buildings, hotels, restaurants, and tourist villages,” noting that “tourist villages are one of the new vocabulary for which they were established.” Earlier, a special conference was held to establish tourist villages.
     He added, "The Ministry announced the existence of a number of these investment opportunities publicly in more than one meeting with companies interested in tourism investment, and it is part of the government program and in accordance with the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and with the interest of Minister of Culture Ahmed Al-Badrani, which requires that the tourism sector turn to... Investment.
     He explained, "The investment sector is the sector that has the expertise and also shortens the time factor in order to revive and revitalize tourism in Iraq."
    He pointed out, "There is a group of tourist sites that need maintenance, construction, and new additions, and this is what the Ministry is working on in cooperation with the relevant departments and ministries, in addition to following up on the affairs of companies and the affairs of these sites and tourist groups," stressing that "the Ministry of Culture is moving toward investment." “The new tourism sector, which provides greater investment opportunities, as well as tourist sites, buildings and cities.”
    He stated, “The archaeological sites are part of the sources of tourism income in Iraq, but these sites need financial allocations in order to provide the requirements for accommodation near those sites, as well as providing the necessary needs necessary for them,” noting that “the archaeological sites are far from city centers.” This requires health, security, and logistical requirements, and this is what we hope to provide in the ministry’s budgets.”
    He pointed out, "The Ministry, through the Tourism Authority, provides work permits to tourism companies, and it closely follows the work of these companies and monitors their performance in a way that ensures their implementation of the applicable law and instructions that are issued from time to time in relation to the work of tourism and the satisfaction of tourists who visit these companies, in order to obtain Tourism service.
