On Thursday, the Minister of Electricity chaired a meeting of the production sector, discussing the final reading of the 2024 plan, stressing the readiness of production plants as an utmost necessity.
The minister stressed in a statement, seen by Al-Iqtisad News, “the importance of implementing the plan prepared by the ministry for energy production stations that was discussed with the Prime Minister,” explaining that “effective coordination with the Ministry of Oil to ensure the provision of sufficient quantities of fuel and storing it as a reserve.” For stations.”
He directed “to quickly complete the Dibs and Kirkuk power station and complete the modification work on the fuel pipelines by the Ministry of Oil to ensure their operation during the coming summer,” stressing “counting the number of necessary projects that have been suspended in order to obtain a government funding decision.”
He stressed “approaching the Ministry of Finance to obtain a batch of emergency funds as a loan from the general operating budget in order to sustain the implementation of projects and not stop them.”
The Minister praised “the efforts made to complete the stages of the plan established to rehabilitate and maintain the stations and open others before next summer.”
