    Baghdad today - Baghdad
The leader of the coordination framework, Turki Al-Utbi, revealed today, Saturday (January 6, 2024), that the framework forces will hold an important meeting next week to discuss 3 files.
Al-Utbi said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "The picture has become clear about the size of the winning lists in the provincial council elections in the south, center, and north, especially the number of seats for the framework forces, which achieved important results in 10 governorates."
He added, "The framework forces will hold an important meeting next week to discuss three files related to the results of the December elections in terms of deciding their electoral options and presenting a preliminary road map for forming local governments, pointing out that the meeting will be an important beginning to resolve some initial points."
Al-Atbi pointed out that “several options are being presented by the framework forces regarding the mechanisms for forming local governments and the map of alliances, but they are awaiting a decision in the next meeting, indicating that negotiations to form local governments will practically begin within a maximum period of 10 days.”
The number of provincial council seats across Iraq is 285, and the State of Law and Build Alliance blocs achieved advanced results and won the highest votes in most of the central and southern provinces, in light of the Sadrist movement’s boycott of the elections.
