    Economy News - Baghdad
Iraqi bloggers and activists launched widespread campaigns across social media platforms to boycott Iranian goods and products, as an expression of their denunciation of the missile attack that Iran recently launched on Erbil, the capital of the Iraqi Kurdistan region, in which civilians, including children, were killed.
Iraqi social media users received this campaign with great enthusiasm and interaction, as the sites were filled with calls to expand the scope of the boycott.
    "Let it be destroyed"
Thousands of activists, bloggers, journalists, and public opinion activists are participating in the campaigns that were launched under the hashtag “Let it be destroyed,” meaning “Let it be destroyed” in Iraqi colloquial language, with the aim of increasing pressure toward boycotting Iranian products that are widely spread in Iraq, especially dairy products, and other goods. And goods.
Through their accounts on various platforms, activists published pictures of Iranian goods and propaganda images designed to promote the campaign, explain its objectives, and achieve an advanced response to it, which could put economic pressure on Iran, which uses the Iraqi arena as a large consumer market for its exports, in addition to the presence of a number of factories. For foodstuffs.
Director of the Iraqi Center for Strategic Studies, Ghazi Faisal Hussein, said in an interview with Sky News Arabia:
“These popular campaigns gain their importance from the fact that they are issued by youth activities and civil society organizations, urging the boycott of Iranian-made goods and goods, as a response to the aggression and Tehran’s expansionist policies in Iraq and the Arab region in general, and its effort to militarize societies and form armed groups linked to the Revolutionary Guard, to serve agendas.” Tehran, which is more evident in Iraq.”
“Iran’s bombing of Erbil under false pretexts constitutes a gross violation of Iraq’s sovereignty, and works to force the rest of the countries to submit to the blackmail of Iranian policy.”
“These campaigns are a natural reaction by broad segments of Iraqis, and they see their country as becoming a permissible arena.”
“The campaigns, regardless of their outcome, are a sign of an Iraqi national awareness that crosses factional differences, and they constitute an important step towards strengthening the role of society and raising its voice in the face of the violations the country is being exposed to by greedy regional powers.”
On the other hand, Iraqi writer and analyst Ali Al-Baidar tells Sky News Arabia:
“The campaign undoubtedly expresses a popular reaction to denounce what happened, and it is a positive case, but in terms of its effectiveness, it is difficult for it to have a widespread impact on the presence of Iranian products and goods in the Iraqi markets that are flooded with those products, and there are no competitive alternatives to them in terms of prices, as they are primarily... In general, it is cheap, which explains why consumers demand it more than others.”
"It is true that these initiatives are an expression of an emotional position on the part of the Iraqis regarding their country being exposed to external aggression, but what is required is to intensify efforts towards greater official and popular movements, and to formulate diplomatic solutions that preserve Iraq's sovereignty and prevent its violation by some countries."
