[rtl]The Agriculture, Water and Marshes Committee revealed the preparation of a new law to regulate the work of renewable energy to preserve the environment.[/rtl]
[rtl]The first vice-chairman of the committee, Zozan Ali Koger, said, “The law allows the use of clean energy, such as hydroelectric, solar, wind, or waste, to benefit from it by converting it into renewable, environmentally friendly electrical energy,” according to the official newspaper.[/rtl]
[rtl]She added, "Enacting the law requires the cooperation of all parties, institutions and sectors and commitment to the laws of protecting and improving the environment in Iraq."[/rtl]
[rtl]Koger stated, "The Ministry of Environment is making great efforts to improve the environmental reality," noting "the presence of projects on the ground in the governorates of Basra, Karbala, and Najaf, such as sewage treatment plants, septic tanks, or agricultural waste, all of which are subject to the supervision of the Ministry of Environment."[/rtl]
[rtl]The committee member explained that there are “many causes of water, air or soil pollution, some of which are natural and others due to industrial activities such as factory waste or others, or as a result of agricultural activities such as pesticides or fertilizers or human intervention in one way or another, including sewage, and this constitutes a danger to Health and the environment, and threatens the lives of aquatic organisms and livestock, and threatens the environmental security of water and human health.”[/rtl]
[rtl]Cougar stressed, “the need to take legal measures to prevent abuse, preserve water from pollution, and preserve soil and air, as well as awareness programs, and the preparation of future national plans with a vision to preserve and improve the environment for future generations, and the necessity of cultivating and strengthening the spirit of love and cooperation to protect the environment among people.” Governmental institutions and civil institutions spread awareness and culture among members of society and develop programs and curricula in schools to spread awareness and culture among individuals in society.[/rtl]
