Today, Tuesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani issued a special directive regarding the Nebras Chemical Industries Project to the Ministries of Oil and Industry after the Dutch Shell company apologized for the project.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Industry, received by Mawazine News, said, “The Dutch Shell Company announced continuing discussions with the Ministries of Industry, Minerals, and Oil and the global consultant (Genesis Company) regarding the Nebras Petrochemical Project as a major investor, with its emphasis on continuing to support the project through its partnership with the Basra Gas Company and providing... All the priorities that Shell has regarding the project.
According to the statement, the Prime Minister directed the Ministries of Industry and Oil to study other options that are more responsive to the new reality of gas after signing the investment contract with the French company Total, as well as to re-examine the size of the project, its design capacity, and other technical details.
