Iraq is an influential mediator to reduce tensions in the region

During his meeting with representatives of research centers on Iraq and the region in the American capital, Washington, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani stressed that Iraq has worked a lot to prevent the expansion of the conflict, and warned that the continued systematic killing of civilians will lead to violence and extremism, stressing efforts to reduce of escalation.
The head of the Al-Sharq Center for Strategic Studies and Information, Ali Mahdi Al-Araji, said in an interview with Al-Sabah that “Al-Sudani is trying to get Iraq out of the quagmire of the reduced global conflict between Iran and America, and take Iraq to a safe path. Because he realizes that any arena of conflict or fighting will take Iraqi soil as its stage, and here we will be a primary party in the conflict.
He added, “In fact, I find this file to be at the top of all the files carried in Al-Sudani’s bag, which deal with the outstanding problems between America and Iraq regarding the internal conflict and the international conflict.” Al-Araji believed that “It can be said that Al-Sudani is expected to play the role of mediation because of its great importance in this matter.” “Critical times, which in turn restore the Iraqi leadership position in the region.” He continued: “It is not easy for there to be a voice at the forefront and on all international platforms with an effective leadership role between the fiercest and oldest conflicting parties in the region.”
He pointed out, “When the Sudanese speaks in Washington about the agreement to stop the escalation, this does not come from a passing scope or a constructive statement as much as it confirms that the matter has been effectively settled with the Iranian side by him, as well as with the Israeli side by America.” .
Al-Araji stated, “This does not stop at the role of the public actor, but rather indicates the importance of Iraq to all parties and the importance of Iraq in particular to America, which is trying to raise Iraq to the level of the major powers controlling the international scene.” He added, “I find it a major step that will spare the region from calamities and inject Bloodshed, prevents devastation, and opens new doors towards a strong Iraq with a balanced international policy that holds the stick from the middle with everyone.”
For his part, the researcher in political affairs, Wathiq Al-Jabri, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “There is no doubt that Iraq contributed significantly to reducing tensions and sought to bring viewpoints closer between regional countries, and thus resolve differences regionally and build balanced relations internationally and in accordance with international norms and laws.” And humanity.”
He added, “Therefore, Iraq - represented by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and his speech in Washington - had a firm position on the Palestinian issue, as well as raising concerns about the escalation of tensions in the region and mutual responses, and thus resolving the Palestinian issue and immediately stopping the war on Gaza is the key to solutions to prevent this.” Tensions, then obliging the international community and international institutions to perform their role by implementing the laws that require states to abide by, the most important of which are the laws that were fair to the Palestinian cause - and the Zionist entity did not abide by them - so Iraq warns against engaging in escalation and for states to assume their responsibility for resolving conflicts.
