    Municipal Council announced in Mandali in Diyala province, Wednesday, for the re-opening of the border crossing between Iraq and Iran, has been closed for more than 30 years, stressing that the crossing will support economic development in large areas of Diyala and provides many job opportunities for the unemployed and creates flexibility in commercial traffic paths. The head of the Council of Mandali (90 km east of Baquba) Azad Hamid cured in an interview for "Alsumaria News", "formally and government delegation from the Iraqi and Iranian sides opened Somare-crossing Mandali border between Iraq and Iran, has been closed since more than 30 years as a result of the eighties war the last century.  He healed that "the crossing will support economic development in large areas of Diyala and provides jobs for thousands of unemployed, and create flexibility in commercial traffic between Iraq and Iran as road toward the crossing paths available."
    He stressed "the need to allocate part of the imports for the reconstruction of the crossing Mandali that were intended to marginalize the decades-long, in addition to addressing the unemployment crisis and high poverty," considering the opening of the crossing, "a major event will bring optimism to economic development."

    Between cured and that "the movement of commercial exchanges across the Mandali Somare-crossing will not start until the current time to complete some administrative procedures by specialized agencies."

    Referred to the Somare-crossing the border with Iran Mandali closed since nearly thirty years on the back of the outbreak of the Iran-Iraq war in the eighties of the last century, has not been re-opened since then.

    There are in Diyala province, a border crossing with Iran called Mundhiriyah, occupies a strategic importance due to the large number of commercial convoys flowing from both sides, as well as that one of the main border crossings, which enters through which pilgrims to Iraq and a lot of goods.
