Today, Thursday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed the preparation of a study to use the development route in transporting oil and gas.
This came during Al-Sudani’s presidency of the regular meeting of the Supreme Committee of the Development Road Project, in the presence of the Minister of Transport, a number of officials in the Ministries of Planning, Oil, Electricity and Communications, and the Prime Minister’s advisors. During the meeting, the executive procedures for the Development Road Project were reviewed, and the implementation of previous directives was followed up. According to a statement received by Mawazine News.
According to the statement, the meeting witnessed a discussion of the study of the service corridor in the project, which includes the path of the optical cable lines, the paths of the oil and gas lines, and the paths of electricity and renewable energy transmission.
Al-Sudani directed the Ministry of Oil to prepare a consultative study to link the Ministry of Oil’s projects to a strategic vision for using the development path in transporting oil and gas, as well as exporting it according to the investment and production map.
The Prime Minister also directed the relevant ministries to receive and study ideas and not to take any decision except through the Supreme Committee for the Development Road Project.
The meeting discussed the inclusion of the project in the budget of the Ministry of Planning, and the file of transit and customs developments. It was also decided that the General Land Transport Company would be the guarantor of the transport of goods on the development road at the present time.
