Preventing the entry of unlicensed companies into Kurdistan

The Kurdistan Region Tourism Board has banned unlicensed "fictitious" tourism companies from operating in order to provide the best services to tourists and improve its work in cooperation with the Federal Government Tourism Board. The Director of Tourism Marketing at the Board, Sirwan Tawfiq, told Al-Sabah: In cooperation and coordination with the Federal Government Tourism Board and in the presence of the Tourism Companies Association, the Kurdistan Region Tourism Board banned unlicensed "fictitious" companies from the center and south of the country coming to the region and vice versa from entering the Kurdistan provinces, pointing out that unofficial companies that enter the region and vice versa will also be held accountable by confiscating the tourist bus, imposing fines and taking legal action against them.
The Commission imposed on tourism companies in the center and south of the country to contract with tourism companies operating within the region to operate tourist groups and vice versa from the region’s governorates to the rest of Iraq’s governorates, in addition to preparing special identities for licensed and authorised companies and a monitoring system for tourism programmes.
