Independent MP Ahmed Majeed Al-Sharmani called on the Prime Minister today, Sunday, to end the assignment of the Central Bank Governor and replace him with a competent person.
Al-Sharmani told Al-Maalouma Agency, "The Central Bank's policy failed to contain the dollar crisis against the Iraqi dinar."
He added that "the Central Bank's policy towards the dollar crisis has not succeeded so far," noting that "there is a discrepancy in the levels of currency sales in the black market and the parallel market from the price set by the government and the Central Bank."
He pointed out that "these positions are assigned to incompetent people under political pressure," stressing "the need to replace the governor of the Central Bank with a competent person." End / 25 H
