Baghdad Governorate announced, on Saturday, its intention to complete four giant projects on the outskirts of the capital.
The Director of Baghdad Municipalities, Yasser Al-Quraishi, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and reviewed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "Baghdad Municipalities is one of the formations of Baghdad Governorate, which was previously affiliated with the Ministry of Housing in 2019, and we moved to Baghdad Governorate within the disengagement departments." He pointed out
that "the municipalities provide services to 16 administrative and municipal units distributed over seven districts on the outskirts of Baghdad, and now we are in the process of establishing a municipality in Al-Zawraa District after its establishment as an official district affiliated with Baghdad Governorate and in the process of preparing surveys and basic designs, as Baghdad Governorate announced the basic design during the submission period and is now in the study and referral phase to be a model district."
He added, "We have many projects that can be submitted through the governorate, including projects in Al-Hussainiya, Al-Latifiya, Al-Mahmoudiya, Al-Yusufiya, Al-Rashid District, Al-Madain, Diyala Bridge and Al-Tarmia, in addition to the rest of the other areas to which we provide services."
He continued, "We have four giant projects on the outskirts of Baghdad, namely the Nahrawan sewers, Al-Wahda neighborhood, Sabaa Al-Bour, and Abu Ghraib, and upon their completion, services will begin to be provided to those areas."
