    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]Iraqi parliament member Mustafa Sand announced that the implementation of the Federal Court’s decision was behind the increase in MPs’ salaries this month for those with a doctorate degree.[/rtl]
[rtl]Sand stated in a clarification on his Telegram website that “MP Basem Khashan filed a lawsuit with the Federal Court against the directors of the House of Representatives (claiming) that their salaries were not reduced according to Cabinet Resolution No. 333 of the Abadi government,” indicating that “the Federal Court decided to apply the decision to the general directors, and the Council Presidency applied the reduction to the representatives as well.”[/rtl]
[rtl]He explained that "due to the implementation of the Federal Court's decision, the salaries of representatives this month for those with a doctorate degree increased by a small percentage, while those with a master's degree maintained the same salary, while the salaries of those with a bachelor's degree, diploma, and secondary school certificate decreased."[/rtl]
[rtl]Sand pointed out that "in order to address this sudden defect, the House of Representatives decided to implement Article 64 of the law, and the article included returning the salary to what it was a month ago and not exceeding the salary (the minister's salary), and it is a legal decision and does not bear financial consequences for the House of Representatives."[/rtl]
[rtl]“As for employees, they were granted a 30% risk allowance of the nominal salary as an allowance and less than the 30% that was previously reduced from the total salary,” according to Sand.[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out that "all the rumors that talk about the existence of a retirement for MPs are false. The retirement of MPs has been cancelled, and the employed MP returns to his previous job, and the non-employee does not deserve a retirement. Also, the living improvement amount has been cancelled, and the allocation of vehicles has been cancelled. Also, the MP does not receive a plot of land like the ministers, as the ministers receive plots of land (600 meters) in distinguished locations."[/rtl]
[rtl]MP Mustafa Sand pointed out that "ministers receive a diplomatic passport for life, while MPs receive it for their term only."[/rtl]
