The National Initiative to Support Energy and Reduce Emissions is preparing to convert 546 government buildings to solar energy to reduce climate change.
Amanj Al-Harki, a member of the Parliamentary Electricity and Energy Committee, explained to Al-Sabah that “the committee met with the national team to discuss converting 546 government buildings to solar energy, including the House of Representatives building and the government palace, after allocating about 90 billion dinars.”
Al-Harki added that “the team will begin implementation after completing all work related to the project,” indicating that “private sector companies will implement the project under full government supervision, with the buildings linked to an electronic system in the Energy Research Department at the Ministry of Electricity in cooperation with the National Data Center Department at the Council of Ministers.”
