    The Kurdistan Region and Jordan signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of agriculture and food industry, while the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, confirmed the continuation of developing bilateral relations. 
    The statement of the Prime Minister's Office stated that Masrour Barzani received, today, Sunday, the Minister of Agriculture in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Khaled Musa Al-Hanifat. 
    The two sides discussed developing cooperation and coordination in the fields of trade, agriculture, food industry and marketing of agricultural products between the two sides.
    The Jordanian Minister of Agriculture conveyed King Abdullah's greetings to the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, noting the "strong and long-standing relations between the Kurdistan Region and Jordan." 
    The Jordanian minister praised the "progress and prosperity witnessed by Erbil and the Kurdistan Region."
    For his part, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region thanked the "continuous support of King Abdullah and the government and people of Jordan, who have supported the Kurdistan Region at various stages." 
    Masrour Barzani expressed the "Kurdistan Regional Government's readiness to continue developing bilateral relations," supervising the "signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministries of Agriculture of the Kurdistan Region and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in the field of cooperation and coordination in the field of agriculture, food industry and imports." 
    Statistics from the Erbil Companies Registration Directorate in 2021 indicated that there are more than 90 Jordanian companies operating in the Kurdistan Region, more than 70% of which are representatives of the main branches of these companies, and the rest are managed through partnerships, and most of the Jordanian companies in the Kurdistan Region work in general trade and consulting.
