A member of the House of Representatives confirmed that the political consensus between the rival Sunni parties will lead to resolving the crisis of electing the Speaker of Parliament.
MP Aref Al-Hamami said that the political forces are determined to decide on the position of the Speaker of Parliament in the coming days and the issue cannot be postponed any longer, indicating that the Sunni forces have not yet agreed on their candidate for the Speaker of Parliament.
He added that the political movement is pressing towards deciding on a candidate for the position of Speaker of Parliament, and there is an understanding from the political blocs to proceed with setting a session to elect the candidate for the position, noting that the Coordination Framework is keen to decide on this position.
He explained that the oversight and legislative role in the House of Representatives cannot be completed without a Speaker of Parliament, and this entitlement must be decided quickly.
