The General Company for Iraqi Ports revealed, on Sunday, a project to build five berths within the project to establish a container terminal for the Grand Faw Port.
A statement by the company received by Mawazine News stated that "the project to build five berths within the project to establish a container terminal for the Grand Faw Port is one of the five projects within the Grand Faw Port projects, with an area of (167,000) m2."
He added that "the depths of the berth facade reached (-22.6), and the amount of excavation in the berth facade amounted to (2,600,000) m3, with a number of pillars amounting to (1736) tubular pillars."
He continued, "The amount of rocks of different sizes used is (1,500,000) tons, and the amount of sand, gravel and space materials is (2,000,000) m3, in addition to the number of precast pieces used in different shapes, designs and uses amounting to (6050) pieces."
He pointed out that "the volume of concrete used is (130,000) m3, the number of connecting bridges is (880) bridges, and the amount of asphalt paving is (12,600) tons."
He explained that "the number of bumpers in the project is (117) bumpers, and the number of ship berths is (144) berths."
