Independent MP for Diwaniyah Governorate, Nazim Al-Shabli, confirmed today, Monday, that the governorate is on the list of oil explorations during the coming period.

Al-Shabli said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, "The oil exploration file is the largest and most important event in the history of Diwaniyah due to its economic, social and service repercussions in the governorate."
He added, "Diwaniyah Governorate has huge oil wealth that needs to be invested in the appropriate manner through Block 7 oil exploration contracts."
Al-Shabli pointed out that "the discovery of new oil fields will add new reserves to the cities and contribute to developing the social, economic and service reality in them."
Iraq's main goal from the licensing round is to increase gas production for use in power plants. End/25Q
