    Time / Baghdad


    Finance Minister Hoshyar Zebari, on Monday, the importance of financial and banking system reform in line with the International Standards, as warned of a "negative impact" to delay the reform process on the credibility of Iraq after it became part of the movement of global capital markets.

    The Finance Ministry said in a statement received "time", a copy of which, "The Finance Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, chaired a meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank in the presence of the President of the Board of Supreme Audit and Director of the Rafidain and Rasheed Bank and a number of the Ministry of Finance experts and Central Bank to consider the restructuring of the two banks mentioned, through implementation of the Comprehensive banking system and the possibility of increasing the capital of the two banks in order to enable the practice of comprehensive banking operation, including commercial banking. "

    Zebari said, "The financial system and the banking reform is necessary to be consistent with international Calibrator, especially after the Iraq get a credit rating and after it became part of the movement of global capital markets."

    Zebari warned, of "delayed the reform process being will reflect negatively on the credibility of Iraq in front of the international financial institutions."

    I like the report and I'll bet there was other issues besides this discussed between the CBI and finance and the two state banks [largest] perhaps they're coordinating the distribution of new banknotes throughout the banking system.
