Economic: many foreign imports of industrial goods because of fluctuations in exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar

    13-06-2013

Economic expert attributed the a.Hassan shammari, reasons for Iraqi dinar exchange rate fluctuations against the US dollar to large imports of foreign goods and materials which have led to the depletion of foreign currency from the inside.

He said Al-shammari (News Agency): many foreign imports of basic industrial materials consumer goods from neighbouring countries as a result of the lack of local industrial product led to drain hard currency in large quantities in the country, and this prompted a fluctuating dinar exchange rate against the dollar.

He added: the Government is required to pay attention to the productive sectors, especially the manufacturing sector for the provision of local products and the reduction of foreign imports and thereby providing hard currency to the country.

Witness the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar fluctuated sharply against the U.S. dollar, as a result of the Central Bank's measures to sell hard currency.
