    Amman - industrialists called on the government to intensify communication with the Iraqi side to open and secure the land border road between the two countries and the opening of "Trebil" crossing in front of national products.

    It is noteworthy that alternative ways to enter the Jordanian products to the Iraqi market is through the land route from Saudi Arabia through and then Kuwait to Iraq, the sea route through the port of Aqaba to the port of Umm Qasr, through the port of Jebel Ali or through the Iskenderun port in Turkey in order to enter into Irbil market.

    In turn, the Amman Chamber of eye industry Ziad al-Homsi said the industrial sector of Jordan is hoping that we will soon witness the reopening Trebel crossing, especially since the information received from Iraq indicate that the Iraqi government has been approached to extend its control over the border areas with Jordan, after he managed to defeat al Daesh terror in those areas, so the opening of the crossing has become not far away.

    Homsi said that the statistical data released by the Chamber indicate that the national exports amounted to about 390 million dinars compared with 427 million dinars for the same period last year and a decline of 9%.

    Homsi said that this significant decline compared to previous years, threatening many of the factories that constitute Iraq's main market for its exports to cease production, which are not few in number, as a result of their inability to compete in the Iraqi market due to the high cost of alternative transportation. The new Homsi government is required to work on the re-opening of Trebel crossing as soon as possible, and in coordination with the Iraqi side in order to preserve national industry list.

    He pointed out that other wild styles to the entry of national products to the Iraqi market goods sometimes been damaged as a result of the transfer of goods from truck operations to another before reaching the Iraqi market.

    He called Asamain government business continuity from the Iraqi side to overcome the obstacles to open the land border , "Trebil" crossing between the two countries and secure the road as soon as possible to save the national industry which is witnessing a decline in exports as a result of the closure of traditional markets. 
    He pointed out that many factories, especially that has been created for the Iraqi market , it has laid off workers and reducing production while others stopped production.

    The Iraqi ambassador in Amman, Safiya al-Suhail said in a statement to "tomorrow" that "Trebil" border crossing between Jordan and Iraq is ready artistically and technically and awaiting a decision by the joint between the two countries, the security committee in the presence of fears of attacks from border areas linking Iraq with other countries .

    It is noteworthy that the national exports declined during the past two years to Iraq and the percentage of the decline over the past year to 40% and the value of $ 695 million, while $ 1.2 billion in 2014.
