    Shafaq News / U.S. Congress expresses his country's readiness to cooperate with Iraq and its support to face challenges in fighting against “terrorism”
    , while Iraqi Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki urged the United States to deal with the crises in the region with more precision and caution

    the Government of the United States of America offered on Saturday, the Iraqi government for joint cooperation between the two countries to face “terrorism” in the region, just two days after the exit of Iraq from Chapter VII

    .
    It is worthy that the UN Security Council of the United Nations voted last Thursday, unanimously to remove Iraq from Chapter VII after more than two decades of being imposed under it due to Iraq’s invasion to its southern neighbor, Kuwait.

    Iraq regained its legal position in the international community, to what it was before the UN Security Council Resolution 838 of 1993, which was passed due to the former regime's forces invasion to Kuwait

    According to a statement issued by Maliki's office received by” Shafaq News” ,”the latter received on Saturday U.S. Senate delegation headed by John McCain, during a meeting ,as they discussed important issues of the region, especially the Syrian crisis and its repercussions on neighboring countries”.

    The statement quoted Maliki as saying that “prolonging the crisis will worsen the problems in the region and multiply the suffering of the Syrian people,” stressing “the need to intensify efforts to find a solution to the Syrian crisis”.

    “The government is making intensive efforts with all the political partners in order to protect Iraq from the storms that pass by the area,” the prime minister added.
    For his part, members of the congressional delegation stressed “the need for cooperation and coordination between Iraq and the United States to face the current challenges,” offering “their willingness to support Iraq in facing these challenges, especially fight against terrorism
