Angry response against "sizing" Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces
    8:35 PM ADMIN
Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: The statement of Iraqi Premier Haidar al-Ibadi , from Washington, on his

attempt to "scale and sizing the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces" stirred angry responses from different military arms of political components here.

Observers believe that this statement is an "avowed message to be under the US umbrella to minimize Iranian control on Iraq", as well as the new rapprochement with Saudi Arabia through the second meeting with Saudi foreign minister Adel al-Jubair within one month's time.

Premier Ibadi confirmed that the Popular Mobilization Forces, in its present form, will not be permitted to participate in the provincial elections (September, 2017) and Parliamentarian elections in April, 2018.

Close circles to the Popular Mobilization Forces reported it will participate in the coming elections through having alliances with previous premier Nouri al-Maliki to "confirm the control of sectarian parties on both provincial and parliamentary levels.

Earlier, the Iraqi Parliament voted for the law of these forces which were put under the command of the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Forces. All military regulations shall be applied on them, according to the law.

"We are heading to provincial and parliamentarian election, so no political components carrying arms will be permitted to participate in these elections", Premier Ibadi confirmed from Washington.

In response to Ibadi's Washington's statement, Secretary General of Asa'ib Ahl a-Haq organization Qais al-Khaz'ali warned that he will not permit any attempt to "cancel or defame" the Popular Mobilization Forces.

In a meeting with a number of tribal leaders , he pointed that the US project aimed at strengthening its presence on western parts of Iraq and east of Syria.

He warned against "a big and dangerous conspiracy against the Popular Mobilization Forces".
