Hurricane Harvey continues to affect oil prices

    16:26 - 29/08/2017

Oil prices fell after the closure of about 13% of the refining capacity of crude in the United States (the largest consumer of the world oil) caused by Hurricane "Harvey".

By 11.00 GMT, the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil by 0.83% or 43 cents to $ 46.44.

The price of a barrel of US oil fell 0.28% or 13 cents to $ 46.44.

The continued shutdown of US refineries is expected to boost Brent crude.

Hurricane Harvey, the strongest in the past 12 years, has shut down a number of refineries in the Gulf of Mexico with a total capacity of around 2 million barrels per day.
