British newspaper "The Times" revealed information leaked Hollywood star Angelina Jolie on the overthrow of an army commander.
The British newspaper said in its Sunday edition that it had obtained leaked information about Hollywood star Angelina Jolie about the overthrow of Uganda's Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) commander, asserting that Jolie had proposed to the International Criminal Court in 2012 to act as a "trap" Accused of war crimes in Africa and wanted to be arrested.
According to reports leaked from the International Criminal Court, the plan was for Jolie to invite LRA leader Joseph Kony to dinner to be arrested on charges of war crimes including murder, rape, enslavement and forcible recruitment of children.
The Times said it was in a meeting with former ICC prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo, who wanted to send Jolie, and possibly her husband, Brad Pitt, along with US special forces, to the Central African Republic to help arrest Kony.
She added that Jolie was the one who had this idea, since she had long hoped to arrest this dangerous criminal, but did not start the plan and did not respond to many of the emails that were received by the prosecutor, according to the British newspaper, which did not mention In its report the reasons for not implementing the plan.
The Times report revealed that Ocampo had used other celebrities such as American actors George Clooney and Sean Bean, as well as the wife of the founder of eBay, and Sheikha Mozah, mother of the Emir of Qatar, for similar goals.
The International Criminal Court has accused LRA leader Joseph Kony of committing war crimes, including murder, rape, enslavement and forcible recruitment of children, as well as photographs and videos of his crimes in northern Uganda, when he was commander of the army.
