"The Baghdad International Fair is an important phenomenon to meet companies and investors and to get acquainted with the latest developments in the field of economic," said the expert on economic affairs Maitham al-Aybi. The Baghdad International Fair turned 44th session into a bazaar for selling goods and accessories.
"There is a big difference that the officials of the Baghdad exhibition should be aware of between the international exhibition and the pazzar market," he said during a press statement on Wednesday. "The exhibition is an important phenomenon to meet companies and investors and to learn about the latest developments in the industries, Opportunities for investors, but to turn the Baghdad exhibition into a public arena to sell goods in a simple and inappropriate is unacceptable and reflects a bad reputation for the Iraqi market rather than a platform to attract investment.
Al-Aybi expressed his surprise at allowing not only Iraqis to sell but also to foreigners, where there were shouting slogans to promote the goods and we were in a popular market, calling on all parties responsible for the preparations of the exhibition not to repeat this phenomenon in the future.
"Narrow groups can be allowed to sell their own products of a manual or folkloric nature ... which is justified on such occasions ... but in specific, codified and deliberate proportions," he said.
The Baghdad International Fair concluded its 44th session last Monday amidst a large international Arab participation.
