"The price of gasoline 95 octane was 2.04 riyals after it was 0.90 riyals, while diesel prices were 0.378 riyals after it was 0.33 riyals."

For its part, the Tunisian government raised fuel prices, increasing the price of gasoline by 2.85 percent, as part of plans to reduce government subsidies and reduce the budget deficit, in the framework of major reforms demanded by international lenders.

"It is decided to raise the price of a liter of gasoline to 1.800 dinars (0.7333 dollars) from 1.750 dinars starting from midnight," the Tunisian Ministry of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy said in a statement.

This is the second increase after the Tunisian government raised petrol prices by 6.7 percent last July as Tunisia struggles to rein in the growing trade deficit due to rising energy imports.[/size]
