"The current budget for 2018 is still in the hands of the government and has not been sent to the House of Representatives until now after it was returned to the government because of the dispute over it," MP Zeinab al-Khazraji said on Tuesday.
Al-Khazraji said in a statement to the twilight news that the differences on the budget is still ongoing and there is no solution regarding them, indicating that most of the political blocs have objections to the budget, which is likely not to pass if not included requests of the political blocs budget law for the current year.
"It was agreed between the deputies of oil-producing provinces not to vote on the general budget of the country and rejected, if not include the rights of our oil-producing provinces of the petrodollar entitlement, and this natural right will not allow not to give it to our provinces under the pretext of fiscal austerity.
Khazraji added that "our provinces suffer from deterioration of infrastructure and health sector and disruption of projects because of lack of financial funding, which we stress in the budget to include our rights," indicating that "if not included, we will not vote on it and we will reject it."
