    The General Administration of Customs announced on Friday that it has earned more than one trillion dinars in 2017.
    The Authority said in a statement received by the «Journal News» that «the revenues of the Authority amounted to 2017 trillion and two hundred and thirty billion Iraqi dinars, higher than the previous 2016, which amounted to six hundred and forty seven billion dinars», indicating that «in the past year achieved the highest annual revenue ever achieved "He said.
    She added that "this increase was achieved as a result of the successful measures taken by the Commission in facilitating the work of customs and accounting corrupt," noting that "the reform process is not easy task in light of the challenges facing the body, but not impossible to achieve the political will to combat corruption and simplify procedures.
    "The reforms went on to include the completion of technical preparations under the supervision of the Prime Minister's Office and the support of the UNDP mission in Iraq to begin the adoption of electronic customs system, which will improve the efficiency of collection and achieve justice in the application of fees and cut the way for the corrupt."
    The Authority noted that it obtained "the approval of the Prime Minister to work with the international conventions and treaties that facilitate and facilitate the customs work, including the Kyoto Treaty, which will transfer its working procedures to very advanced steps in terms of facilitating its procedures on the one hand and control of all land, sea and air ports and on the other by adopting the latest methods Technical and capacity-building ".
    The Customs Authority stressed that "the working parties and all supervisors at the border crossings must assume their responsibilities in supporting and supporting the Authority to complete the customs treatment and provide the necessary services and facilities for that," indicating that "overlapping powers and the collapse of infrastructure and the lack of modern logistics and technical devices to detect containers are the most important obstacles Faced by the Commission ".
    The Commission pointed out that "there are shortcomings in the procedures followed by the technical bodies working in the forefront of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control for delay in the examination procedures on the models of imported materials and the delay the establishment of regional laboratories close to border crossings."
    The Commission called in its statement "all government agencies present at border crossings to assume their responsibilities without giving them to the customs administration whose duty is limited to the application of laws, decisions and instructions issued by the relevant authorities."
